« ALL BIKES Sprawl
However you look at it, from grip to grip, spoke to spoke, the Sprawl is a dang gorgeous bike. But this hottie has more than just a perfect body and pretty face. A super-smooth Shimano Alfine eight-speed internal hub provides a level of precision, ease and comfort that makes it just as attractive on the inside. So commute, tour, train, grab the mail – whatever you’re doing, you’ll be riding (and shifting) in style.

Spot has rethought the way a vertical slider-style dropout should come together (literally). Not only does it allow both belt-driven and chain-driven single-speed configurations, it also gives you the option to add a derailleur and "gear up." The unique compact system also gives you the ability to remove and replace the rear wheel without having to adjust belt tension. Add a redesigned super-strong frame connection to the mix and the Spot rear dropout system is the strongest, safest, least fussy and most versatile you'll find anywhere.

Gates CenterTrack:

Next generation Carbon Drive System. Unique, super-strong, carbon-reinforced polyurethane system that requires no lube and provides a nearly silent ride. CenterTrack is stronger, lighter, more compact, and better at shedding debris than the prior Gates systems.

Shimano Alfine 8-Speed Internal Hub:

Super-high quality with simple shifting and low maintenance

True Temper OX Platinum:

OX Platinum is a proprietary superthermophillic (heat-loving) alloy, developed in partnership with the U.S. Steel Alliance. The composition of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Vanadium with an unprecedented 217 ksi ultimate tensile strength makes this alloy actually gain strength through a metallurgical transformation in the heat-affected zone as a result of welding or brazing. OX Platinum is highly temper-resistant, resulting in an 11% increase in fatigue life and a 20% increase in impact strength over the competition. The increased mechanical properties of OX Platinum allow for incredibly strong, yet lightweight frame designs with that legendary feel of steel ride quality.

Urban/Zippy Geometry:

Cruise with your head up and pass on the left

Fenders and Rack Mounts:

Everything you need to make the urban experience as functional as enjoyable

Dropout Compatibility:

Patent-pending Kobe Slider Dropouts allow belt-driven or chain-driven or geared configurations

Sprawl REVIEWS

My sprawl is beautiful. I ordered a Sprawl through Joe Bike in Portland and, despite having a longer wait than I would have liked, have been riding my Sprawl on my commute and for errands for several months now. It performs beautifully. The buttery smooth center-track belt drive is damn near silent and doesn’t mess up my office pants, even on the rare occasion when they get caught. The ride is as smooth and responsive as I’d hoped for. And the appearance? Let’s just say that the photos online don’t do this bike justice. (Mine is black instead of the green, and it’s one damn fine looking bike.) I did upgrade the outdated and not-terribly-bright shimano light that was included to a B&M CYO which mounted beautifully on the fork crown. I also added a rear rack and rear dyno-powered light to complete my commuting set-up. The included fenders have worked well in the Portland rain so far this year, but I may upgrade them to some shiny steel ones next year as the plastic feels a bit cheap. Bottom line? This is one fantastic bike.

Commuter, errand runner, kid hauler, trailer puller, belt, disks, fenders, style, dirt, road, gravel, my Sprawl does it all.
