« ALL BIKES Rocker SS
“Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.” Or just leave them all in the dust on the Rocker SS Steel. From the first pedal stroke, you’ll realize it loves riding out front just as much as you do. With the Gates Carbon Drive CenterTrack Belt system and geometry that strikes a perfect balance between stability, agility and comfort, this 29er leads the pack the way a good alpha bike should.

Spot has rethought the way a vertical slider-style dropout should come together (literally). Not only does it allow both belt-driven and chain-driven single-speed configurations, it also gives you the option to add a derailleur and "gear up." The unique compact system also gives you the ability to remove and replace the rear wheel without having to adjust belt tension. Add a redesigned super-strong frame connection to the mix and the Spot rear dropout system is the strongest, safest, least fussy and most versatile you'll find anywhere.

Gates CenterTrack:

Next generation Carbon Drive System. Unique, super-strong, carbon-reinforced polyurethane system that requires no lube and provides a nearly silent ride. CenterTrack is stronger, lighter, more compact, and better at shedding debris than the prior Gates systems.

Reynolds 853 DZB Tubing:

Seamless Air-Hardening Heat-Treated Steel with Double Butted Zones. The benefits of air-hardening steels are particularly noticeable in the weld area where, unlike conventional steel alloys, strength can actually increase after cooling in air immediately after welding. 853 is heat-treated to give high strength and damage resistance, and the steel properties allow thin walls to be used, so that lower weight but fatigue-resistant structures can be made. The chemistry includes carbon, manganese, chrome, molybdenum, silicon, copper. The interaction between the alloys result in a fine grain structure that forms with air-cooling without the traditional “quenching” (fast cooling in water or oil) process. High strength from bainitic phase steel after a series of cold-working operations. Heat-treatment to the 853 specification raises the yield strength for the entire tube, increasing dent and impact resistance.

Dropout Compatibility:

Patent-pending Kobe Slider Dropouts allow belt-driven or chain-driven or geared configurations

Rocker SS REVIEWS

Surprised! is how I would put my first reaction to the Rocker. How can a steel frame be so comfortable. I have two carbon frame mountain bikes with mostly carbon components. Carbon absorbs the shock, yet my steel rocker is every bit as smooth as either of my carbon bikes. The steel frame is excellent. The tires grip the dirt with claws. There’s very little spinning climbing those hills. The Gates belt drive is amazingly quite and trouble free. Here’s the only changes I would make: - shorten the stem, 120mm on a large frame makes tight turns challenging - increase the back sprocket to a 30. Climbing steep hills is very difficult with the 28. Having said that – dealing with the people at Spot has been an absolute pleasure. They are friendly and responsive.

We love our Spot Rockers. My wife has never ridden better. I can tell that the ride, geometry, fit, and responsiveness inspire her confidence, enabling her to ride at a much higher level. I love how smooth the bike rides, its balanced, responsiveness to power at the pedals, it handles extremely well without becoming twitchy, and I really love it’s simplicity. For me, the Spot Rocker has really captured what single speeding is all about – just ride your bike, and have the most fun you have ever had, every time. Thanks again for all your help! Bryan
