It may sound like an obvious statement, but we folks at Spot make bikes. It’s been our sole focus from day one. No shortcuts, no marketing tricks, no redefining what “cool” means – just building bikes that turn bike riders into bike addicts, and racers into winners.
When it comes to designing, engineering and building our bikes, we’ve been at the forefront of the industry long enough to know the difference between a real innovation and a trendy fad. It’s been true right from the start, when we gave single-speed mountain bikes the attention and technology they deserved, creating a whole new riding experience. Then, as one of the first to build a 29er, we took the opportunity to complement the wheel radius with a dialed-in geometry that turned its potential on paper into a reality on the trail. And our partnership with Gates has added yet another dimension to the industry. The development of the carbon belt drive has introduced a level of strength and efficiency that would never have been possible in traditional drive systems.
In truth, all that innovation is fine and good, but our real goal is to make sure that once you’re in the saddle, you completely forget that any of it exists, and just enjoy the ride. After all, the best stories are about biking, not about bikes.

A new Rallye out sharpening its teeth for the Back to Basics Cyclocross Series in Golden.
Spot has a long history making exceptional steel hardtail mountain bikes, using exotic steels from Japan, or name-brand tubing from Reynolds, True Temper, KVA and Columbus, among others. Single-speed compatibility is the norm. And these days, the best single-speed setups use Gates CenterTrack belts, so the frames need to be belt compatible as well. But versatility is key and we at Spot ride lots of geared chain/derailleur bikes as well. We love 1x11 drivetrains and we also love big tires. Recently, many have wondered what Spot's next steel hardtail would be. So here's a glimpse at our new Rocker that we will be shipping at the end of next month. Reynolds 853. Kobe 2 slider dropouts for belt/chain/ss/der versatility. 30.9 seat tube for many dropper post options. Tapered head tube. 29 x 2.4" clearance and 27.5+ x 3.0" clearance. BPLUS! The mid-fat setup is the quattro stagioni bike, good for any time of the year. With the playful geometry and the large volume tires, it's made to have fun. One frame, with limitless ways to get rowdy. More details coming over the next week.
